“If I had an extra hour every day I would…”
That was one of the topics for “Postcards with Prompts,” a fun swap-bot postcard series I participated in last year.
Swapper Susan sent the beach-themed postcard above with her response:
If I had an extra hour every day, I would go to the beach and walk on the sand and in the water and collect shells. I love the beach and I don’t go there often enough.”
I can certainly use an extra hour each day. I would use it wisely, of course, and take the extra hour to sleep or read for pleasure. From August to May, there’s never enough of either, and I literally dream of getting sleep and reading something that I don’t have to think about once I turn the last page.
I love the ocean, though, so maybe, I’d simply sit quietly at the beach. I’m certain of one thing–I would not squander my extra hour on work. There’s always too much of that!
What would you do with an extra hour each day?
I would find a place to be alone. I realize i don’t get enough alone time. It would take a while to get used to that but i believe i would get so much out of it. Nature would call, being creative, and or reading and writing…

Your plan for the hour sounds perfect! It would be lovely to be able to magically teleport to a destination for the hour. I’d read in a public garden in Vermont, or on a rocky beach in Maine, or in a covered gazebo in a thunderstorm. Ahhh, just thinking about it makes me relax!

Alone time is so important, so be sure to make some time for you NOW We all know there will be no magical 25th hour and most of us would waste it on work–unfortunately.

Thanks for reminding me I need to take more time just to go barefoot – either in the grass or on the beach. I can only do that this time of year. I won’t wait for that “extra hour”. Will make time. Have a great day!!!

If I had an extra hour each day, I would pause and share more time with God. Conversations with God give me comfort.

Yes!!! That’s what I love about the summer months. I EASILY spend 2-4 hours with God in the morning. I’m going to miss that in a few weeks.

I would want to sleep, but in actuality, I would use my hour to cook or clean.

Girl, take the sleep. The cooking and cleaning will definitely be there.

I would probably read, but maybe spend part of that hour in prayer. There are so many people who need prayer!

This is truth. I made a new list today and I stopped at two pages. Will add to the list tomorrow.
